Ancaster Farmers’ Market Online Shopping and Curbside Pick Up at The Ancaster Fairgrounds for the 2020 Season.

Thank you for continuing to support the Ancaster Farmers’ Market.
Please note that if you DO NOT pick up your order on Wednesday, we are unable to hold your order for future pick up.
You will forfeit your money to the vendor and your product. If you are not able to come during your  designated Surname time slot, we understand. Please come to pick up your order between 3:00pm – 6:00 pm at a time that is convenient for you. We structure it this way so we do not have everyone arriving at the same time and have longer wait times.
Thank you for your cooperation. It is greatly appreciated!

Ancaster, Ontario – In their 11th season, the Ancaster Farmers’ Market is taking on a new look during the COVID-19 pandemic for customers to still enjoy some of their favourite products from the vendors. The market will be moving to an online model for the 2020 season with contactless curbside pick-up at The Ancaster Fairgrounds on Trinity Road.

St John’s Anglican Church has been home to the Ancaster Farmers’ Market for 10 years and the Ancaster BIA and Ancaster Farmers’ Market fully support the Anglican Diocese of Niagara’s decision during this challenging time.

Reverend Cannon Joseph said “With an abundance of caution and concern for the health and safety of others, particular the most vulnerable, the Anglican Diocese of Niagara, of which St. John’s in Ancaster is a member, will not be reopening it’s buildings, grounds or properties until at least September. This means that in person worship in our churches will not resume until the fall and all other activities such as the Ancaster Farmers Market will not be able to operate on church property. This is a disappointment to everyone but we look forward to its return in 2021 with even more vitality”.

“The Ancaster BIA Board of Directors recognizes that the Ancaster Farmers’ Market is a special weekly event in our community. Even though this year the market is outside of the BIA boundaries, we are thrilled to offer the first ever Curbside Pickup Farmer’s Market to service our community as well as support our vendors and farmers.” said Dr. Melissa Sander, Ancaster BIA Chair.

Over the past couple of months, Cindy Hawryluk, Market Manager has been working closely with the Ancaster BIA Board of Directors, The City of Hamilton, Health Department and Businesses in Ancaster to determine when the market could safely open and under what circumstances to maintain the best health and safety measures for the vendors and community.

“Our market usually consists of 40 + vendors and we are pleased to be offering products from over 25 vendors for the season. We have many of our long -time vendors joining us and we have a few new vendors that are all eager to provide products to the Ancaster Community.” Hawryluk said.

Beginning on Thursday June 18th, customers will be able to place their online orders on the Ancaster Farmers’ Market website (www.shopancasterfarmersmarket.com) from vendors for pick up on Wednesday June 24th between 3:00pm-6:00pm at their temporary location at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Road.

Moving forward, the online market will open on Thursday morning and close on Monday evenings at 6:00pm to ensure the vendors can prepare the orders for delivery on Wednesdays. Please note that pick-up time will be based on Surname. For more information and updates, check the website and social channels.
