Weekly fun children’s activities – always interactive and free!
Activities will range from tie-dye to seed planting, pine cone crafts, make your own Mr. Potato Head, vegetable stamping, etc. Check back regularly for this week’s activity.

July 4th – Tie Dye – drop by the market with a white t-shirt, pillow case or anything else you would like to put a bit of colour and creative vibe on. Please also bring a plastic bag to carry home your wet creation and be prepared to get messy!! http://www.instructables.com/id/Rubber-Band-tying/
July 18th – Leaf Stencil Art– Come visit the Kids’ Corner to make a fun and colourful drawing using nothing other than crayons and nature! Materials and instructions will be provided by volunteers.
July 25th – We’re celebrating Christmas in July! Visit the Kids’ Corner and make Pine Cone Christmas Trees! Face Painting ($2 donation to ACS)

For grade 3 and up – Challenge of the Week: Plan a meal for your family with ingredients that can be bought at the market.
August 8th – Potato Stamping. Challenge of the Week: Taste-sample something you haven’t tried before.
August 15th – Peas in a Pod – drop by the Kid’s Corner to make a fun 3D craft including colouring and tissue paper! Challenge of the Week: How many different coloured tomatoes can you find?
August 22nd – Pinecone Bird Feeders – use pinecones to make natural bird feeders for your yard! Challenge of the Week: find the strangest looking vegetable.
August 29th – Make Your Own Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head – use local ingredients to make a Mr. or Mrs. Potato head of your very own. Challenge of the Week: take a selfie at your favourite market vendor.
September 5th – Match the Seed to the Vegetable – put your veggie knowledge to the ultimate test by seeing how many seeds you can match to the proper vegetable. Challenge of the Week: choose two foods to add to your school lunch.
September 12th – Celery Flower Printing – use celery to make a beautiful flower painting! Challenge of the Week: Identify 3 products at the Market that come from animals.
September 19th – Sunflower Bean Mosaic – beans aren’t just for eating, use them to make a beautiful mosaic! Challenge of the Week: Buy apples to make an apple pie you can enter in our contest!
September 26th – Pumpkin Apple Stamps – use one food to make a picture of another! Challenge of the Week: Discover the best smelling Market stand.
October 3rd – Pine Cone Owls – create your own fun little creature! Challenge of the Week: Find something you can use as a decoration at home.
October 10th – Scarecrows – use recycled materials to create a festive scarecrow! Challenge of the Week: Buy something with your own money. Remember to count the change!
October 17th – Farm Animal Puppets! Challenge of the Week: What is the sweetest tasting item at the Market?
